The Georgia Soybean Association was founded in 1968 and affiliated with the American Soybean Association (ASA) the same year. In 1969, the Florida Soybean Producers Association was founded and affiliated with ASA. In 2001, Georgia Soybean Association and Florida Soybean Producers Association voted to merge into the Georgia/Florida Soybean Association.
