In 1968 the Virginia Soybean Association was founded and affiliated with the American Soybean Association.
John Stephens, Marion, Ark., field representative of the American Soybean Association (center in picture), congratulated R. C. Clark and son Ray on winning the Dinwiddie County, Va., soybean yield contest. Their average yield was 47.4 bushels. Stephens said more research on increasing yields is necessary, also more marketing promotion, and “let’s keep soybeans independent of government domination.”
