Our farm story starts in 1902 when my great grandfather purchased land in North Dakota. Located in Dickey County, we continue to farm this rich loam soil in 2019. While the farm initially grew wheat and small grains that supported dairy cattle, hogs, and chickens, today we emphasize growing soybeans and corn.

2019 was the most challenging year we’ve ever had with a wet spring, wet summer, and wet fall. October brought us 9 inches of snow which postponed harvest weeks and weeks. Despite the obstacles some of our soybeans yielded 52 bpa.

Each summer I return to the farm to oversee operation of our 1500 acres and to grow three gardens that supply fresh produce to our local cafe in a town of 54 people.
