Memory about soybean farming:I think the adoption of no-till soybeans in 1992 was the single most life changing event on our farm. That led me down a pathway to further conservation practices that I may not have traveled had it not been for that change.
Memory about American Soybean Association:I think the interaction with fellow farmers is the greatest reward I have received from my work with ASA. The second most overwhelming feeling is knowing that as a small farmer in North Iowa, I personally know so many high-ranking people in our government on a first name basis and that they really appreciate my thoughts and views on issues and that I can make a difference.
Memory about the state soybean association:As with ASA, at Iowa Soybean Association I got to meet and work with some of the most talented farmers and staff in the state. Through my years of service at Iowa I got to see places and meet people that no normal farmer would have a chance to experience. It was a life changing time for me and my wife.
